My name for this 1984 Centurion Pro Tour 15 is "The Destrier," which means "War Horse." It is my daily commuter...
the route that I must take on my 8.5 mile commute is quite often a battle for me. Jon found this bike
at a yard sale for uber-cheap, and it looks like it was virtually never ridden. He threw on a nice set of Shimano
aero brake levers, did some serious engineering work to fit a beautiful set of chrome fenders (with an integrated rack!)
off an old Peugeot, and voila! A bombproof battle bike was born. Centurion designed this bike to be a top of the
line touring machine, and they did a surprisingly good job of it. The entire frame is chromed beneath the paint,
there is a built in generator in the cranks with two wires that run through the frame to power both front and rear
lights, and the geometry is long, strong, and very comfortable. You could run over a dead body on this bike and hardly
feel it. Fortunately I have not had to do that yet, knock on wood...
