This late ‘80s Rudge Bi-Frame folding bike is my baby… at least for the time being. I had been looking for a folding bike
that could live in the boot of my car and go with me wherever I go, but being 6’8” means that most of the tiny folding bikes
with 20” (or less) wheels weren’t really an option. I eventually came across this full-sized MTB frame (26” wheels),
and I knew instantly that I had found what I was looking for. It needed a repaint, so I decided to go all out on this
bike and have Jon do it up right. He took off about 50 lbs of braze-ons, then had the frame bead-blasted and repainted
it a bright white. Custom built wheels with Formula hubs (flip-flop in the rear), Tru-vative cranks, and a few other
goodies complete the package. A R.E. Load frame pad protects the downtube which takes quite a beating from the rear tire
in the folded position. With the Rudge in my possession, I shall never go bikeless again...
