This Zurich was my road bike for two years, and I converted it to cyclocross when I bought a Ciocc road frame in 2001. I had a local frame builder add cantilever studs to the rear, and spread the rear triangle to accept a wider tire. Then, I added a Poprad fork, and built it up with the Campy drivetrain and Rolf wheels from my Surly Crosscheck (which I then built up as a junkyard dog and sold).
The headset is a threaded Campy unit, with the threads Dremelled out to work on the threadless for. I have mountain-bike the crap out of this thing despite some rather severe toeclip overlap, for the past 5 years, with no trouble. It is one of the most comfortable frames I have ever ridden, and is another of those I’ll never sell.
